Some people take training days in their stride, a task completed, job done. For me, getting the opportunity to be somewhere different, and even better, with like minded friends just adds to the experience.
The photo below, taken in the Cairngorms, April 2024 after getting up at 3am for a night hike, it was cold and dark, but as the sun started to rise it really lifted our spirits.
Below, ascending Ben Starav in Glen Etive, I couldn’t get up that mountain fast enough as there were midges everywhere, I was hoping there’d be an inversion and I wasn’t disappointed. Stunning day.
When winter hits, you can often get a great snow day from just out your door. I have climbed Hill of Beath dozens of times, but rarely in snow, this was a great day in 2021.
April 2025, a day trip into Loch Ossian, a wonderfully clear day, 3 Munro’s bagged and a wonderful bike in and out, top day.
